A watercolour pencil and ink drawing of a sunflower, next to digital handwriting: ‘Girasol’.
Girasol is the Spanish word for sunflower, and in literal English translation it means ‘turn to the sun’. The concept of ‘turning to the sun’ represents a life close to nature, and for me, this means the benefit and enjoyment of nature for your health and wellbeing.
As Vincent van Gogh is undeniably the godfather of sunflower paintings, I couldn’t have finished this design without including a quote from him:
“To me, sunflowers represent the power of the sun, the warmth of life itself, and the promise of a new day.”
A wonderfully warm A4 print for your home, perfect in any neutral aesthetic.
A flamboyance of flamingoes
Javier, Penelope and Reggie (a flamboyance of flamingoes) are hand-drawn in watercolour pencil, and finished with fine line pen.
The title of this print was made in my digital handwriting, vectorised.
A ‘flamboyance of flamingoes’, a fabulous collective noun for this group of brilliant birds.
A fine line pen drawing of ‘The Garden Visitor’, a little cat who popped by to my garden one winter’s day. When ‘the garden visitor’ turned up, I was feeling ill alone at home, and it was nice to see the cat sitting on the step for a while. I took a photo of it before the cat left, and over the ensuing days I produced this line drawing. Now printed on premium ‘conqueror’ paper, and turned into a greetings card.
A card for anyone who like cats, or can see the characters in animals.
