'Perrett's Park in Spring' greetings card

£3.40

Perrett’s Park in Spring (setting sun)

The picture on this card is the view from Perret’s Park in Totterdown, to the city of Bristol beyond. The Wills Memorial building at the top of Park Street can be seen in the distance, with the greenhouses and meandering paths of the allotments in the middle-ground.

The drawing is named, ‘Perret’s Park in Spring (setting sun)’, and it was produced over several sessions ‘en plein air’, watching the landscape change with the seasons.

On the reverse of the card, the name of the work is included (from my handwriting), along with the final line from the poem, ‘The Peace of Wild Things,’ by Wendell Berry:

“I rest in the grace of the world, and am free”.

A card for anyone who enjoys resting in nature.

★★★★★

“I bought this card not only because of the drawing, but because of the poem by Wendell Berry. It was my mum’s favourite poem, and it moved me to see it included on the back of this beautiful card.”
