‘Bristol buildings’ oil painting

Beginning in September 2025, whilst the trees were still amass with leaves, I worked on this oil painting over a period of two months, layering the paint with a brush and palette knife.

The consequential effect is heavy and textural.

‘Bristol buildings _a view to Totterdown’, captures a scene from Victoria Park in Bristol, looking up towards the colourful houses and mosque on the hillside.

The Jamia Mosque is the oldest in the city of Bristol, and it is the largest in the South West of England.

The painting is named, ‘Bristol buildings _a view to Totterdown’, to describe the multicultural fabric of the city. Both the colourful houses and the mosque are emblematic to the area, and the heritage of the city.
